The ADRIPLAN Data Portal is a collaborative platform making accessible data, services and tools to support Maritime Spatial Planning processes implementation in the Adriatic and Mediterranean region.
The ADRIPLAN Portal was developed during the ADRIPLAN (ADRiatic Ionian maritime spatial PLANning) project, a project co-funded by the European Commission – DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) under the theme “Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in the Mediterranean sea and/or the Black sea“ (Grant Agreement n. MARE/2012/25 [SI2.666717]). The Portal was established by the Italian National Research Council - Institute of Marine Sciences (CNR-ISMAR), coordinator of the project, with inputs from all project partners. Following the conclusion of the project, the Portal is maintained and further developed under the project RITMARE (IT Flagship Project on marine and maritime research).
The portal is an integrated platform which aims to support the MSP process in the Adriatic-Ionian region. The portal is developed on GeoNode, an open source Geospatial Content Management System that allows users to share geospatial datasets and maps. ADRIPLAN collaborates with other projects to integrate and make data available from their portals. The creation and maintenance of this network of collaborations allows the capitalization of existing multiple efforts and improves the availability of spatial dataset for users interested in MSP-related information.
